My guid to making invisable folders
Wednesday, May 13, 2009
This is a quick and easy way to hide your stuff from prying eyes.
Now there are a few ways to hide your folders and files but these are the quickest and easyest.
Way # 1
- Right click on the folder/file
- Scroll down to Properties
- Click The hiddel box
- Click apply
Now when you want in to the folder just eather type the path in to the adress bar at the top of explorer. Or
open a folder go to tools Folder Options, Go to the View tab and click "show Hidden files and folders"
Way # 2
- Rename the new file/folder by highlighting the new folder/file and hitting f2 then holding alt and on the number pad hitting the numbers "0160" In that sequence one at a time.
Note: This should create a blank space.
- Right click on the folder/file
- Scroll down to Properties
- Click The Customize tab
- Click on "change icon..."
- Find the blank icon (should be 12 rows over beside a lock)
- Hit ok and apply
Now the folder should be gone. Now if you want to find it all you have to do is. eather highlight every thing or hit f5 (refesh) and click on it.
Note: i prefer Way # 2, It just makes it so you can click to open it. where as with way # 1 you have to eather type the path in or change your options. (it also seems just a bit safer)
